Partnerships

Students doing research in the field

The University has been recognised nationally and internationally for its regional engagement. Critical to USC's success is the University's partnerships with regional organisations.

In 2005, USC was chosen to participate in a project run by the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) to document international best practice in university-community engagement. The international project report was released in Valencia, Spain in October 2007 and is available through the OECD website. 

Regional governance partnerships

  • The Sunshine Coast Regional Council: to develop and implement a shared vision for education across the region, and to give leadership in the development of the region

Education partnerships

  • Education Queensland: to develop the Knowledge Precinct around the University
  • Sunshine Coast TAFE: to offer dual award programs and investigate options for end to end education service delivery
  • Sunshine Coast high schools: to offer the Headstart program (a Year 11 and 12 university experience) to local high school students
  • Chancellor State College: to offer integrated curriculum, conduct research, enhance learning opportunities, and share infrastructure
  • Immanuel Lutheran College: to host and support the Voices on the Coast Youth Literature Festival

Environmental partnerships

  • Kingfisher Bay Resort and Dilli Village: to operate research and education centres on Fraser Island
  • Australia Zoo: to collaborate on research projects and share expertise

Business partnerships

  • Sunshine Coast Regional Council and relevant land owners: to develop a Technology Park adjacent to the campus
  • Sunshine Coast based Community Solutions: to place Study Abroad students in internships with local businesses as part of their study experience
  • Queensland Transport, Queensland Rail, the Chancellor Park community and Sunbus: to establish additional public transport routes to the campus for students

International partnerships

  • More than 60 partner institutions in over 20 countries: to provide opportunities for overseas student exchanges and online education
