The Schooling, Globalisation and Refugees in Queensland project is funded by the Australian Research Council and examines schooling for refugee students in the Queensland public education system.

The project investigates how policies, schools and local communities are meeting the educational needs of young refugees under globalising conditions.

The project's research approach combined policy analysis, critical discourse analysis and visual methods. This approach was used to explore international, national and local policies, as well as school-based practices.

Orientation and preliminary research for the project was conducted during 2005. The main data gathering phase of the project was undertaken during 2006 and 2007. Visit the project publications and presentations page for further details.

This project website is intended to detail various aspects of the project, to provide links to other education projects and information useful to schools, teachers and policy-makers interested in the education of refugee students.
