Eligibility to graduate
Students who have completed the requirements of their degree, but have not yet had their degree conferred at a ceremony, are referred to as 'graduands'.
Notices regarding Graduation are mailed to your current postal address as listed on USCCentral. To ensure you receive all notifications, update your contact details on USCCentral as soon as your postal address changes. You should also check your USC student email account regularly for any Graduation notifications.
Confirmation of eligibility to graduate
All online and on campus students receive notification from Student Administration by mail in the last semester/session of enrolment. This notification confirms your degree information and advises of your potential eligibility to graduate, pending successful completion of studies.
It is essential you check this notification to ensure you complete your final semester/session of study with the correct degree name and degree requirements.
On campus and online students should contact Student Administration if you have not received notification and believe you are eligible to graduate at the end of your current semester/session.
If your notification does not match your expectations, contact Student Administration immediately.
Offshore students should contact your study centre if you have not received notification and believe you are eligible to graduate at the end of your current session.
Confirmation of completion of program
After results are finalised and released for the last semester/session of study, graduands receive an official Statement of Academic Record and a Statement of Completion. This identifies you as eligible to graduate.
The Statement of Completion and Statement of Academic Record (also known as an academic transcript) can be used as proof of your degree status with employers until your official Degree Certificate (testamur) is presented at the Graduation ceremony.
Off-shore postgraduate students are enrolled at the University of the Sunshine Coast through a centre of study in their own country. They will receive notification of their eligibility to graduate from their centre of study.
Contact Student Administration if you have not received notification and believe you are eligible to graduate.
