Graduation ceremony registration and attendance

Graduation notifications and registration

Six weeks prior to the Graduation ceremony, all graduands eligible to graduate at the on campus Graduation ceremony will receive an information package in the mail containing:

  • an invitation to participate in the ceremony 
  • an Attendance and Academic Dress Hire Form 

The information will be sent to the graduand's current mailing address as recorded on USCCentral.

To register your attendance at the Graduation ceremony, the Attendance and Academic Dress Hire Form must be returned to Student Administration.

If no response is received by the advertised due date, you are considered as not participating in the Graduation ceremony and will be marked as inabsentia. Late requests will not be processed.

Two weeks prior to the ceremony, Student Administration will post guest tickets to your current mailing address as recorded on USCCentral.

Graduands should check this website on a regular basis for updates regarding the ceremony, collection of academic dress, and more. Graduands should also check their USC student email address for Graduation information.

Inabsentia

If you are unable to attend the ceremony, your Degree Certificate (testamur) will be posted to your current mailing address, as recorded on USCCentral, within two weeks after the Graduation ceremony.

Visa requirements and travel arrangements

Off-shore and overseas students attending the on campus Graduation ceremony are responsible for obtaining any required visas, and for making any accommodation and travel arrangements.

Please note that it may take up to four weeks to be issued with a visa.
