The following steps will help guide you through the process of applying and enrolling as an English Language Programs student at the University of the Sunshine Coast. If you need help along the way please contact USC International.

Step 1: read the student rules, policies, procedures and guidelines

Refund of fees for English Language Program students, a plain English summary of the University’s refund policy and procedures as they affect English Language Program students is available.

Read the Student rules, policies, procedures and guidelines, including the Student Fees and Charges Policy and the Student Fees, Charges and Refunds Procedures carefully. Sending the application confirms that you accept the University's policies, procedures and conditions of enrolment.

Step 2: choose a program

Read about the different English Language Programs and choose a program that suits your level of English.

Teaching materials used in the programs consist of up-to-date published resources and specifically developed materials for each program. A certificate of completion is awarded for each program satisfactorily attended.

Step 3: check admission requirements

Check the minimum admission requirements for English Language Programs.

Step 4: apply for admission

Step 5: visa matters

Find out what's involved in applying for a visa and how long it will take. Visa applications can take several weeks to several months or longer so it is important to start preparing early.

Step 6: accept your offer

Once you have received your English Language Programs Offer letter:

  1. Confirm your acceptance via email
  2. Pay your tuition fees

If you will be studying for 12 weeks or longer, after you have paid your fees you will be issued an Electronic Confirmation of Enrolment (ECoE) so that you may apply for your student visa.

If you have requested accommodation placement, we will provide you with a booking confirmation and accommodation details approximately 4 weeks before arrival, or after we receive your:

  • your flight number, airline and arrival time 
  • full payment of accommodation fees

Step 7: prepare to arrive

After you have accepted your offer organise your travel insurance * and check visa requirements.

* If you come to Australia on a visa other than a student visa, and your course of study is under three months’ duration, you will not be eligible for Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC). In this case travel insurance is recommended.
