Deferred students

If you currently hold a deferred place in any program at USC and wish to commence studies in the next available semester / session, listed below are the various options available to you.

Please note that since Semester 1, 2007, students have been given the choice to defer their place for a period of up to two years.  If you do not wish to take your deferred place up in the next available semester/session, no further action is required at this stage.

Undergraduate (Bachelor) / Associate degree programs

To commence your studies in your currently deferred undergraduate / associate degree program download and complete the Application - Undergraduate (Direct) Form (PDF 116KB) and forward it to the address indicated at the top of the form.

You will receive a new offer of a place from the University, with further information on how to complete your enrolment unless you indicate that you wish to apply for an alternative program.

If you wish to be considered for an alternative USC undergraduate / associate degree program please specify your new preferred program on your application (in Section 7 Program of Study). Your application to change will be considered on the basis of your eligibility at the time of your original offer.

If your application to change is successful, you will receive a new offer of a place from the University, with further information on how to complete your enrolment. If your application to change is unsuccessful, you will still receive a new offer of a place for the program in which you hold a deferred place.

Postgraduate coursework programs

To commence your studies in your currently deferred postgraduate coursework program download and complete the Application - Postgraduate Coursework Form (PDF 110KB) and forward it to the address indicated at the top of the form. More information

If you have any further queries or concerns regarding taking up your deferred place, or the application process for new programs, please do not hesitate to contact Student Administration. You would be most welcome to make an appointment with one of our admissions officers who are available to provide individual advice and assistance.

Note

Applicants are guaranteed a place in the program for which the original admission offer was made, providing that the program is available to commencing students in that year. If the program is no longer offered or has been substantially changed, the University will endeavour to offer you a place in an appropriate alternative program. Please note that not all programs are available for mid-year entry. Refer to the program description for your preferred program.
