Undergraduate non-Year 12 students

If you wish to apply for an undergraduate program, you will be considered a Non-Year 12 applicant if

  • you are NOT currently studying an Australian Year 12 qualification
  • you are studying an overseas Year 12 qualification, ie NCEA in New Zealand.
  • you are already enrolled at a tertiary institution and want to apply for a course at another institution
  • you are using Alternative Entry qualifications to be considered for tertiary entrance
  • you are completing Senior External Examination subjects or Certificate IV in Adult Tertiary Preparation

Non-Year 12 applicants (other than USC Tertiary Preparation Pathway students) are required to apply for admission to USC by lodging an online application via the Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre (QTAC) website. Applications are to be lodged via the Apply by Web application service.

Applicants who reside in the Sunshine Coast region may be eligible to receive a bonus on their Tertiary Entrance Rank under University of the Sunshine Coast's Regional Preference Scheme.

Non-Year 12 applicants who are not able to gain admission to a degree program via QTAC without first gaining additional qualifications may wish to consider undertaking the University of the Sunshine Coast Tertiary Preparation Pathway (TPP).  This program is also an alternative pathway for students who have not undertaken formal studies for an extended period and are seeking to prepare for academic study and refresh their skills. TPP students are eligible to apply directy to USC for admission to a degree program.
