Designed for mature age students.
This informal and interactive session is designed to identify, explore and discuss specific issues relevant to students returning to formal education after a period of absence (particularly mature-age students undertaking university study for the first time).
The session provides the opportunity to meet other students, discuss common issues, and share the experiences of other students who have successfully managed the demands of study and personal life.
To book for this session, complete the return to study form and return it to Student Services. |

| Academic writing and study skills workshops |

One to two-hour academic writing and study skills workshops on topics such as essay and report writing are held every week throughout the semester at no charge to students.
A timetable of these workshops will be available from the first day of Welcome Week and also on the USC portal. Go to 'Academic Skills' under 'My organisations', then 'Study skills', 'Academic skills workshop timetable'. |

Two-hour sessions covering topics such as Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint run throughout the semester on a weekly basis.

| Assignment Writing @ USC for international students |
Course B -weeks 1–3 (Mondays) or Course C - weeks 2–4 (Tuesdays)

For international students only, this course covers assignment expectations. In particular, it looks at using and acknowledging evidence appropriately, using academic style and the difference between essays and reports.
You must register to secure a place, please complete the assignment writing @USC form and return it to Student Services. |
