The Wireless IT Workshop follows on from the IT Essentials presentation and is designed to assist students connecting their personal laptops to the USC wireless network. IT staff will be available to help students with configuration issues and explain the wireless services available at USC.

Fraser Island Orientation Camp Departs 8:30am (returns Saturday 20 February) Enjoy an overnight stay on Fraser Island. Meals, accommodation and all activities are included in the package. Activities include fully guided bushwalks, visits to freshwater lakes, fishing, swimming and bird watching. This event is a great way to meet other students and have loads of outdoor fun while experiencing Australia's largest sand island.

All students (over 18 years of age) are invited to attend this optional activity but places are limited.
Cost: A$275 + A$20 national park tax per person (payable on registration).

Discover the Sunshine Coast Hinterland Bus Tour 9am–3pm (approx) Come along and discover the Sunshine Coast Hinterland—an easy 30 minutes drive away. Meet other students and make new friends as you experience natural rainforests and majestic waterfalls, visit rustic towns and taste local produce. The tour visits Mary Cairncross Park, Maleny and Kondalilla Falls.

Bring: Bottled water and walking shoes.

Cost: $20 per person. We will stop for lunch at Maleny where you can purchase food or bring your own packed lunch.

This short presentation covers all areas of the USC network, as detailed in the Undergraduate IT Essentials Guide. Students will be given an overview of the University IT systems and understanding of the services available and policies that relate to use of the IT network.

The Wireless IT Workshop follows on from the IT Essentials presentation and is designed to assist students connecting their personal laptops to the USC wireless network. IT staff will be available to help students with configuration issues and explain the wireless services available at USC.

Surviving Uni as a Mature Age Student 10–11am This session is for mature age students (over 21) embarking on university study for the first time. It will highlight some of the common challenges facing mature age students and will provide useful tips from current students to help you juggle the many demands of university life and personal and family responsibilities. New to the Coast Bus Tour 11.30am– 3.30pm This is a great opportunity to get to know the Sunshine Coast area with other newly arrived students. Visit the central business districts, shopping centres, beaches and cafe precincts surrounding the University. This tour will show you where to go for anything you need while you are studying at USC and you'll finish up with a cool drink and a tasty lunch at the Maroochydore Surf Club.
