Australian South Sea Islander Tertiary Preparation Pathways

USC graduand Briony Boyd

The University of the Sunshine Coast continues to develop opportunities to increase the number of Australian South Sea Islander people accessing higher education through its undergraduate and postgraduate programs.

In 2006, the University introduced a tertiary preparation pathway as a further entry option for people who are unable to gain admission to a degree program through QTAC without first gaining additional qualifications.

The University also provides a number of scholarships for Australian South Sea Islander high school students in grades 11 or 12 who wish to take in the University’s Headstart students.
