Students at the Student Services helpdesk

The University is committed to assisting international and resident students from non-English speaking backgrounds achieve academic success.

Students who have English as a second language can have individual consultations with an academic skills adviser and get practical help to develop the academic skills necessary to succeed at university.

Academic skills services, workshops and courses, covering skills such as proofreading and academic writing, are offered prior to and during orientation and throughout each semester. Courses and services are free of charge for all students.

Other workshops, such as discussion and oral presentations, are held throughout the semester to help students improve their English language and academic skills.

A workshop timetable can be obtained by logging in to the USC portal. Then go to My Organisations, click on Academic Skills, then click on Workshops, Workshop Timetables.
