The University is committed to assisting international and resident non-English speaking background students achieve academic success.

Students who have English as a second language can have individual consultations with an academic skills adviser and get practical help to develop the academic skills necessary to succeed at university.

Workshops specifically aimed at students from non-English speaking backgrounds (NESB), covering topics such as referencing and assignment writing for international students, are offered at the start of each semester.

Other workshops, such as discussion and oral presentations, are held throughout the semester to help students improve their English language and academic skills.

A workshop timetable can be obtained by logging on to the USC portal. Then go to Services and Programs for Students, click on Student Services, Academic Skills Workshops.
