How to apply

For new Headstart students:

  1. Read about the Headstart program online or collect a brochure from your school.
  2. Download the 2009 Headstart Application Form (PDF 114KB) or collect a copy from your school.
  3. Decide what courses you would like to study.
  4. Look at the USC timetable for lecture and tutorial times. Timetables for Semester 1 will be available from 15 September 2008, and for Semester 2 from 4 May 2009.
  5. Complete the application form. You must nominate your preferred times for lectures, tutorials and workshop/laboratory sessions (if applicable). When selecting your preferred class times, please refer to your school timetable to avoid schedule clashes.
  6. Hand your completed application form and supporting documentation to your School Coordinator for approval. You will need to submit the original application form and documentation, plus two copies of your application (ie three copies in total). If approved, your School Coordinator will forward your application to USC. Applications for Semester 1, 2009 close Friday 31 October 2008. Applications for Semester 2, 2009 close 16 May 2009.
  7. If your application is successful, the University will send you a ‘letter of offer’ and orientation information before the start of the relevant semester—by late January for study in Semester 1, 2009 or by June for study in Semester 2, 2009.

For continuing Headstart students:

  1. Complete the 2009 Headstart Continuing Enrolment Form (PDF 88KB).
  2. Hand your completed continuing enrolment form to your School Coordinator for approval. You will need to submit the original continuing enrolment form, plus two copies (ie three copies in total). If approved, your School Coordinator will forward your application to USC.

No late applications will be accepted.
