Health and sports facilities
Blow off a little steam by making use of USC’s extensive sporting facilities, covering everything from basketball to pole vault.
Access to the sports facilities is from Sippy Downs Drive. Car parking is available at car park number 12, located next to the Sports Stadium as shown on the campus map.
Health and Sport Centre
The University's multi-storey Health and Sport Centre is located next to the Sports Stadium.
The A$13.8million facility includes:
- state-of-the-art testing and research laboratories
- a fitness centre and gymnasium
- a cafe
- a free Psychology Clinic for the community
- purpose-built teaching spaces for a range of health degrees such as physiotherapy, occupational therapy and psychology
- office space for public allied health organisations
The Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations have contributed a combined total of almost A$8.2 million to the construction of the Health and Sport Centre, under the Capital Development Pool and Better Universities Renewal Fund programs. The University Foundation raised over A$2 million in critical funding for the facility, as part of the Building Excellence Campaign.
Sports Stadium
The University's A$10 million indoor Sports Stadium is used for University, school and community sporting events. The national standard facility includes:
- 3 netball, basketball and volleyball courts
- 4 badminton courts
- 1 international-sized futsal court
- timber sports thrust floor
- 6 large toilet/changeroom areas
- tiered spectator seating
- a total floor size of 3,705 square metres
- air-conditioning
Stadium fees
Off peak rate:
- A$38 per court per hour – visitors
- A$35 per court per hour – University staff and students
Peak rate (weekends and from 5pm each weeknight - includes lighting):
- A$45 per court per hour – visitors
- A$42 per court per hour – University staff and students
Casual entry:
Fees payable at the USC Sport office located in the Sports Stadium.

IAAF-standard athletics track
The international standard athletics track is available to hire for training, meets, school carnivals and public use. Located on campus, the facility has eight- and ten-lane running tracks, and equipment for hurdles, steeplechase, javelin, shot-put, discus, hammer-throw, high jump, long jump, triple jump, pole vault and disabled throw events. The track surface is the Sandwich System (EPDM and PU composite). Lighting, toilets and meeting room facilities are available.
An Application to Hire form (Word 97KB) and, if track equipment is requested, a Track Equipment Requirement Hire form (Word 93KB) must be completed to confirm booking.
Track fees
- A$2.50 per athlete per session payable at the Sports Stadium.
- A$1.50 per University student/staff per session payable to track marshal or the University's Financial Services department
- Season passes are available and include unlimited access to track:
- 3 month pass – A$60 per person
- 6 month pass – A$100 per person
- 1 year pass – A$180 per person

Athletics carnivals
The track can be hired for carnivals and club meets. Price on application. Full carnival hire charges include equipment hire, access to power and kiosk with hot and cold water. Toilet facilities are available. An Application to Hire form (Word 97KB) and Track Equipment Requirement Hire form (Word 93KB) must be completed to confirm booking.
Please note that track bookings are essential for any use other than casual training.

Multipurpose playing fields
The University has four fields that are available for rugby union, rugby league, AFL and soccer activities. Field 1 is equipped with night lighting and is maintained to competition standards, while Fields 2, 3 and 4 are suitable for daytime use. Fields 1 and 2 are located alongside the University Club. Fields 3 and 4 are located beside the Sports Stadium.
Field fees
Day rate
- A$30 per hour – visitors
- A$20 per hour – University staff and students
Night rate (includes lighting)
- A$50 per hour – visitors
- A$35 per hour – University staff and students
Season passes are available to sporting groups. Price on application. Fees payable at the USC Sport office located in the Sports Stadium.

Outdoor hard courts
The University has two hard courts for tennis, basketball and netball activities. Night lighting is available. Bookings must be made through USC Sport.

Night rate (includes lighting):
- A$12 per hour per court – visitors
