The Health and Sport Centre at USC's Sport Precinct

The opening of the Health and Sport Centre in July 2008 enhanced USC’s capabilities and offerings in health education.

The A$13.8million facility is located alongside USC's Sports Stadium, and includes:

  • state-of-the-art testing and research laboratories
  • a fitness centre
  • a cafe
  • a free psychology clinic for the community
  • purpose-built teaching spaces for a range of health degrees such as physiotherapy, occupational therapy and psychology
  • office space for public allied health organisations

The Health and Sport Centre will provide numerous benefits for the Sunshine Coast community.

The Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations have contributed a combined total of A$6 million to the construction of the Health and Sport Centre, under the 2008–2009 and 2009–2010 Capital Development Pool funding programs.

The University Foundation is raising an additional A$3.5 million for the facility from private funding, as part of the Building Excellence Campaign.
