1996–2006
The University of the Sunshine Coast opened in 1996 to serve the needs of the wider Sunshine Coast community, one of Australia's fastest growing regions. Since then, the University has achieved many milestones.
The University celebrated its tenth anniversary throughout 2006, with a variety of events for students, staff and the community. An aerial photograph of staff was taken by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Paul Thomas, and a commemorative book detailing USC's early history was launched.
