Capital Programs and Operations

Capital Programs and Operations is responsible for developing and maintaining the University's campus and providing access to state-of-the-art facilities for students and the community alike.

Mission

The mission of Capital Programs and Operations is to provide and manage a physical environment which is consistent with the Campus Master Plan and Strategic Plan and which reflects the University's commitment to education and community service.

Supporting all facets of University activities, Capital Programs and Operations provides:

  • the infrastructure and support services to meet the University's strategic and academic goals
  • a safe and responsive environment for students, staff and the community
  • community access to the University's facilities through its commercial activities

Capital Programs and Operations consists of three operational units:

Operations

The Operations team has a large scope of work, including:

  • capital works developments and minor works
  • timetabling
  • spatial management and planning
  • fleet vehicles
  • Workplace Health and Safety
  • emergency procedures, and
  • community and government liaison regarding development issues

Works

The Works team is responsible for:

  • developing the campus landscape
  • maintaining the University's buildings and grounds, and
  • assisting in the establishment and maintenance of remote research stations and study centres

Security

Security are on campus 24-hours-a-day seven-days-a-week providing a safe and secure environment to students, staff and visitors. Security personnel are also trained in first aid.
