Profile
Dr Elizabeth Eddy has taught in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences since 1996 and is in the School of Social Sciences. Her multi-disciplinary courses contribute to a range of programs including social science, community work, social work, environment and heritage and international studies. She is currently the Faculty's Honours Coordinator.
Elizabeth brings to her teaching a strong focus on social justice issues, drawing on her long-term involvement in Australian social justice and environmental movements, and she is on the editorial board of Social Alternatives Journal.
Since she began teaching at the University of the Sunshine Coast, Elizabeth has been an executive member of the staff union, the National Tertiary Education Union, and is currently the branch President. She is a NTEU National Councillor and on the Queensland NTEU Division Executive. Elizabeth is also one of the staff representatives on the University of the Sunshine Coast staff consultative committee.
Elizabeth's current research interest include the industrial and social implications of liberal governance reform for higher education and welfare policies.
