Profile

Kevin Todd, as an artist, has an extensive record of exhibition and commissioned work in Australia and overseas, and the primary focus of his practice is in digital media. His work in this area has been recognised through grants for projects from the Australia Council, Arts Tasmania, Arts Queensland, the Australian Network for Art and Technology, the Australian High Commission in Singapore, the Asialink Centre at the University of Melbourne and the Arts Council of England.

Kevin has undertaken residencies in Australia, Malaysia, the UK, USA and Ireland and worked on projects with organisations such as the Australian Antarctic Division, the Australian Museum, Launceston General Hospital, the Queensland Manufacturing Institute, Australian Pulp and Paper Institute and the Centre for Rapid Design and Manufacture in England.

In Australia, his work has been exhibited at the Australian Centre for Contemporary Art, the Australian Centre for Photography, the Australian Museum, the Experimental Art Foundation, Perth Institute of Contemporary Art and Brisbane City Gallery. He has also exhibited in New Zealand, Singapore, England, the USA, Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, Japan and Malaysia.

Kevin has considerable experience in art for architecture, having undertaken a range of consultancies and commissioned works in Malaysia, Tasmania and Queensland. He is currently developing sculpture projects in Cork, Sydney, Liverpool and New York.

Kevin started at USC in January 1997 and was the inaugural coordinator of Art and Design. In 2001-2002 he was visiting professor at the State University of New York, Cortland. Other international work includes a curriculum development consultancy for a World Bank funded project in Indonesia in 2000. Kevin has lectured and presented papers at conferences and symposia in Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Ireland, the UK and USA.
