Dean's welcome
The global business environment is constantly evolving and is always exciting. With a business education you will be qualified for a multitude of jobs in a wide variety of fields, all around the world. A career in business promises a world of opportunity.
While relatively small, the Faculty of Business at the University of the Sunshine Coast is committed to delivering business education that keeps pace with the ever-changing world of global business. We blend knowledge from business research with knowledge from business practice to provide an effective business education at the Bachelors, Masters, and Doctoral levels. We also try to place our students into workplace internships such that they can learn more about the practical application of their business knowledge and gain better jobs at the completion of their program.
Our Faculty is committed to becoming widely recognised as the ‘best little business school in Australia.’ Being part of a relatively small business school means that your individuality is important and is not lost, as it might be at a larger business school. We serve our region with quality business education in the traditional disciplines (such as Accountancy, Marketing, and Information Systems) as well as in applied business areas (such as Entrepreneurship and small business management, Property and asset management, Tourism leisure and event management, and Financial planning) that are desired not only within this region but by national and international students who seek a strong qualification in these applied business areas.
Our Faculty has gained a strong reputation for the quality of its teaching and is also building a reputation for the quality of our research which informs our teaching. We look forward to welcoming you to the Faculty of Business, as a student, a researcher, a business organisation that might provide internships, guest speakers, or research projects, or as an individual who can contribute in some way to the quality of the learning experience for our students.
