Profile
Susan Douglas was admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Victoria in 1994, graduating in law in the same year, and is eligible for admission in Queensland. She is currently undertaking doctoral research in the area of mediation. She is investigating the concept of neutrality in mediation incorporating a qualitative study of mediator perceptions and examining these in the light of socio-legal theory.
Susan is committed to quality teaching and meeting the needs of student equity groups. She has represented the Business Faculty on the University's Academic Board and currently represents the Faculty on the Equity Advisory Committee.
Susan has a long teaching history and has made significant contribution over time to teaching first year students in Business Law and Ethics. As well as involvement in the University community, Susan has been an active executive member of local community organisations since her move to the Sunshine Coast. She is currently Chairperson of the Maroochy Neighbourhood Centre Management Committee offering expertise about legal frameworks and compliance issues in employment relations and management practice.
