Profile
Dr David Foster has extensive experience in both academia and the tourism industry. He has been responsible for the development of a number of tourism programs in various institutions in Victoria and Asia, and served on several accreditation boards in other universities. His recent research has focused on events and attractions, in particular their marketing and management. He has also extensive experience working on national park issues and has written numerous management plans. One area of special interest is the involvement of Traditional owners in tourism developments and national park management.
David has worked closely with the tourism industry as a private consultant and through membership of a number of accreditation boards, industry committees and working parties. He has also been a judge in the Victorian Tourism Awards for five years and a mentor in these Awards for two years. This reflects his focus on quality management and the challenge of improving the delivery of services in all parts of the tourism industry.
