Profile
Dr Bishnu Sharma is Senior Lecturer in Management at the University of the Sunshine Coast. Bishnu received his PhD in management from the University of Technology, Sydney. He holds a masters degree in Industrial Engineering and Production Management from the Cranfield Institute of Technology, UK and postgraduate diploma from the Research Institute for Management Science (RVB), Holland.
Bishnu is a co-author of a management textbook published by McGraw Hill. He has published several research articles in international journals and case studies in management books. Bishnu's research interests are in the areas of strategy, quality management, small business management, performance management, social marketing, organisational learning and tourism management. He has also edited the special issue of International Journal of Business Performance Management published by Inderscience Enterprises Ltd as a guest editor. Bishnu has presented in national and international conferences in Australia, France, Japan, New Zealand, Malaysia, India, Philippines, and Hong Kong. Bishnu has also won the best paper award for the paper that he co-authored with Professor Andy Hede in the stream of Small Business and Entrepreneurship at ANZAM 2004 Conference held in New Zealand. Bishnu has also received the Citation of Excellence Emerald Award for the paper that he co-authored with Professor David Gadenne in 2001.
Bishnu has taught introductory management, strategic management, international management, operations management, applied research methods and business statistics / quantitative methods for business, in Australian universities since 1993. Bishnu has also worked for several years in Nepal as a strategic planning and development consultant.
