Profile

Senior Lecturer, Paramedic Nick Prass joined the biomedical team within the School of Health and Sport Sciences at USC to develop and lead the new Bachelor of Paramedic Science program.

Nick maintains his clinical currency as a practicing Senior Intensive Care Paramedic with the Queensland Ambulance Service. Having been in a professional and academic career since 1990, Nick has gained valuable experience within the clinical, aeromedical and offshore remote paramedic practice arenas and has worked as a consultant, clinical manager and educator both within Australia and internationally.

Nick is an active member of the Australian College of Paramedic Professionals and is an advocate for ongoing clinical and educational development of the profession within the tertiary and international sectors. His research interests are professionally broad, but his focus is primarily clinical in nature and is related to international remote prehospital practice and the development of systems and governance for supporting prehospital clinical practice and management in emergency responses.
