Learning and Teaching Performance Fund
The Learning and Teaching Performance Fund was announced in 2003 as part of the Australian Government’s Our Universities: Backing Australia’s Future initiative. The purpose of the fund is to reward higher education providers that best demonstrate excellence in undergraduate learning and teaching. Funding of A$54.4 million in 2006, increasing to approximately A$82 million in 2007 and A$83.3 million in 2008 will be allocated as part of the Government’s focus on teaching quality in Australian universities.
The University of the Sunshine Coast has participated in the Learning and Teaching Performance Fund since the fund’s inception. In the 2007 funding round, the University received A$500,000 for having achieved a high level of achievement in learning and teaching. In the 2008 funding round, the University received A$1.51 million in recognition of its excellence in learning and teaching.
Outcomes of the 2009 Learning and Teaching Performance Fund round are expected to be announced in late 2008.
