Library Information Research Services Coordinator
Hello everyone. My name is Beth Crawter and I arrived on 30 April to take up the position of Information and Research Services Coordinator. I came from the Australian Catholic University in Brisbane. Before then I was the Establishment Librarian at UQ Ipswich Campus - the kind of opportunity you don’t even dream about.
My particular professional interests are in reaching people who have had little experience in using academic libraries, such as return to study and Indigenous students. Also, I would like to explore the use of social networking technologies such as blogs, wikis and virtual environments in libraries.
Over the next few months Library Information Services staff will be learning more about Blackboard on a library trial 'course', and we plan to establish a wiki for Information Desk staff.
