Library tutorials
Introduction to the Library tutorials
Introduction to the Library sessions are usually offered during Orientation Week and the first three weeks of semester. These sessions provide an introduction to Library services and resources.
All tutorials are held in the Library Computer Lab, Level 1.
Tutorials after Orientation Week have hands-on experience and may include:
- an introduction to the resources of an academic Library and searching the Library catalogue
- principles of developing a research strategy, and literature searching with specific course reference tailored to an assignment, essay, or project
- searching specific databases and other online information services
- navigating the internet and conducting research on the web
Academic staff may arrange for library tutorials to support course requirements. Students are welcome to negotiate small group tutorials with their Faculty Librarian.
Staff at the Information Desk are available for research assistance if appropriate tutorials are not available.
