Please use the Electronic Resource Problem Report Form to contact the Library about an access issue or contact the Information Desk. Before you contact the Library, look through this list of frequently encountered problems:

My email username and password is not accepted
My network username and password is not accepted
I get a server error message
I get a message telling me I cannot connect at this time or connection refused or there are too many concurrent users
I need another password
I can not access the full article

My email username and password is not accepted

On campus users: after entering your network login, you do not need to enter an additional username and password to access a Library database.

Off-campus users: you will be prompted to enter you USC network username and password (this is the username and password you use to logon to the campus network or intranets).

If you have any questions about your email username and password, or if you are experiencing difficulty with the login page, contact the IT Service Desk.

If you are certain your email username and password are correct, there may be a temporary problem with access to the Library databases. Contact the Library Information Desk for more assistance +61 7 5430 2803.

I get a server error message

There may be a temporary problem accessing the Library databases. Contact the Library Information Desk for more assistance +61 7 5430 2803.

I get a message telling me I cannot connect at this time or connection refused, or there are too many concurrent users

Too many people may be trying to access the database at once. Wait a little while then try again. If the problem persists or you need advice on other databases to use, contact the Library Information Desk.

I need another password

Some databases require another password or a password in addition to your network username and password. Some databases require another password if you are accessing them off campus. Check the information provided for the database on the databases page. This will tell you whether the database you want to use requires another password or if access is restricted to certain users. If you need another password contact the Library Information Desk.

I can not access the full article

Some databases only provide an abstract or citation for an article. Check the information provided for the database on the databases page. This will tell you whether the database you are using provides full-text. If the database only provides an abstract or citation for a journal article, check the electronic journals and newspapers title list to find out if another database holds the journal you are looking for or check the Library Catalogue to find out if that journal is held in print in the Library.
