The
Reserve Collection is located on the first floor of the Library. This Collection includes items from the library
collections (excluding non-circulating collections), and photocopies of articles and chapters from
texts and journals as required for the current semester.
Teaching and Research staff use this form to request items be placed on Reserve for
use in the current semester. These items are not on a Course Outline or Reading List. Library staff will
retrieve items from the collection on your behalf, and process your request to the Reserve Collection
within the following timeframes, depending on the availability of required resources:
- Monographs/videos from the general collection - allow 24 hours after receipt of item for processing
- Personal Copies collection - allow 24 hours after receipt of item for processing
- Readings collection - allow 72 hours after receipt of item for processing
- E-reserve - allow 24 hours after receipt of item for processing
Note: During the first 3 weeks of semester, processing items to Reserve, or E-reserve may take up
to 5 working days. When submitting requests, Teaching and Research Staff are encouraged to prioritise requirements.
The University Library observes the requirements and recommendations of the Copyright
Act 1968. Requested
resources/readings may be subject to Copyright enquiries and require permissions for use prior to
availability from the Reserve or E-Reserve Collection. You will be contacted in the event of any
delay.
This service is not available to students. Students should contact their lecturer, in the first
instance, to initiate the process if necessary.
Personal copies of resources and master copies of articles or readings to be processed to the
Reserve Collection should be received by staff at the Library Loans Desk in person, or via internal
mail, within one business day of sending this form.
Items for reserve are normally taken from course outlines. To ensure all required texts and
readings for your course are available, please forward a copy of the course outline to Library
Resources and Technologies.
