Female students at USC

International Women's Day is being celebrated at the University of the Sunshine Coast on Friday 7 March. Students and staff are invited to participate in the following activities:

Guest lecture

12noon-1pm in Lecture Theatre 6, Business Building (K) 

Three USC staff members will talk about their experiences as women pursing professional careers. Gayle Mayes is a former Olympic athlete who combined competition with academia, and is now a lecturer in Tourism. Professor Mary Katsikitis is a senior researcher, mainly in the areas of emotion, pain and depression, and is Professor of Psychology at USC. Sandra Jeffries is Director of Information Services, and has held management positions at universities and state and local governments, with a particular interest in staff and organisational development.

Lunchtime activities and entertainment

1–2pm in the Piazza (Art Gallery courtyard)

Enjoy a free sausage sizzle and entertainment in the Piazza, courtesy of Student Services and the USC Student Guild. A female tribal dance group will be performing and Layla Klinkert will be singing.
