FESTURI multicultural celebrations at USC

FESTURI celebrations will take over the University of the
Sunshine Coast this Sunday for a fun day of free family
entertainment.
FESTURI runs over three days starting this Friday with the grand
finale held on Sunday between 9.30am and 4.30pm at the University
campus, on the corner of Stringybark Road and Sippy Downs Drive,
Sippy Downs.
Sunday will be packed with food, discussion, parades, dancing,
music, arts, crafts and activities including European folk music,
Greek, Scottish and Spanish dancing, workshops and an art
exhibition titled, Through Rose Coloured Glasses.
Exotic food and cool drinks from around the world will be
available with stallholders selling everything from handmade
ice-cream to hot and spicy delights.
The Grand Parade of Nations at 12.15pm will include bright and
colourful costumes and national dress from countries around the
globe.
There will be plenty of activities for children too, including
workshops and rides.
Important issues affecting multiculturalism in Australia today
will be discussed in the new Forum Tent with speakers from Amnesty
International and local Sunshine Coast group, Buddies for
Refugees.
The University Gallery will be open to the public and features
The Art of Balgo - a major exhibition of Indigenous art from the
Balgo region of Western Australia.
Come along to the University of the Sunshine Coast this Sunday
between 9.30am and 4.30pm and enjoy all that FESTURI has to
offer.
