USC can help you plan your career
21 September, 2005
Workshops on now
Due to popular demand the University is again offering free
career planning sessions to the public.
Graduate Employment Officer, Ngaere Blair, said there was an
overwhelming response from the community earlier this year when the
University opened its career services area to the public for free
career planning and guidance.
"The May and August sessions were quickly booked out, so we have
decided to run them again as there is a real need in the community
for this service," Ms Blair said.
"The first workshops will be held at the University on 26, 27,
28 September between 5 and 7pm.
"From there we will introduce ongoing career planning workshops
every Wednesday between 4 and 6pm from October 12. These will run
for as long as there is community demand.
"They will include strategies on how to discover what your
characteristics, preferences, beliefs and values are and how they
relate to doing what you truly love," she said.
Workshops will include character assessment, occupation type,
fields of interest, values, and identifying skills and
abilities.
"We can help you plan a change in your career and not just
necessarily through university study," said Ms Blair.
"Employment and career decisions are a major part of most
people's lives and these sessions and workshops give people the
opportunity to explore where their interests and skills lie."
All workshops will be held on campus at the University of the
Sunshine Coast, corner of Sippy Downs Drive and Stringbark Road,
Sippy Downs.
