New programs for 2006

The University has expanded its range of degrees for 2006 to
more than 100.
New degree programs include a Bachelor of Food Science and
Nutrition offering job opportunities in food industry management,
marketing and promotion of food products, and public health and
community nutrition.
A Bachelor of Coastal Studies offers graduates careers as
coastcare coordinators, environmental officers, land, water, pest
and animal management, and in community development.
USC's popular journalism major has been expanded into a full
Bachelor of Journalism offering careers not only in journalism, but
also in communications, creative writing, editing, technical and
web writing.
USC journalism graduates are in high demand with 100 per cent
employment rate in the media industry.
Sport is a popular pastime in Australia and the University has
added a Bachelor of Sport and Industry to its extensive range of
sport-orientated degrees.
This new degree offers students a combination of university
study and accredited sports industry qualifications with exciting
careers in sport and recreation, sports development, or sports
marketing and event management on graduation.
A Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Business have been combined
to offer careers in the growing Marketing Communications (MarComm)
industry working in advertising, film and television writing,
marketing, media planning, media researching or as a web
master.
New postgraduate programs on offer next year include a Graduate
Certificate in Nursing (General Practice), and Graduate Diplomas in
both Education and Health Promotion.
