Author back by popular demand for Voices Plus
5 August, 2005
Following this year's successful Voices on the Coast Festival,
Li Cunxin, author of Mao's Last Dancer, is back by popular
demand.
Mr Cunxin spoke at a sold-out literary breakfast in June as part
of the Voices on the Coast Festival, and many people were
disappointed at missing the opportunity to hear him speak.
Luckily, he is returning to the Coast on Sunday August 21 to be
part of Voices Plus.
Voices Plus is an extension of Voices on the Coast and will be
held at the University on the weekend of August 20 and 21,
coinciding with the University's Open Day on August 21.
Other Voices Plus events include seminars, author talks and
panel sessions.
Voices Plus is a great opportunity for book lovers to hear both
international and local new and well-known authors.
Weekend sessions include:
Queensland Writers Centre Seminar
Panel discussion with local authors about how to write and publish
your first book
Nike Bourke, winner of the Queensland Premier's Literary Award for
Best Emerging Author in 2000
And how to set up or become involved in reading and writing
groups.
Bookings and enquiries for Voices Plus can be on 5430 2805.
