6 November 2007

A four-day, interactive short course in health promotion implementation and evaluation will be held at the University of the Sunshine Coast from 10-13 December.

This course has been designed to help people working in the sectors of health, education, environment, welfare, transport, sport, recreation, community, planning and development.

Course coordinator Jane Gregg of USC’s Faculty of Science, Health and Education said participants could include those working in government, private sector or community-based health promotion programs.

“The course is designed for people interested in developing a greater understanding of health promotion theory and practice,” she said.

“It will be interactive and has been designed to provide participants with practical skills.”

Ms Gregg said course participants would develop skills in using various models for planning, implementation and evaluation of health promotion programs.

Limited places are available. To register, contact USC’s Centre for Healthy Activities, Sport and Exercise (CHASE) administrator Helen Szabo on 5459 4656. For more information about the program, contact Lily O'Hara at 5430 2824.
