Award-winning illustrator to share his creative genius
Award-winning author and illustrator Shaun Tan will share the secrets to his creative genius at the University of the Sunshine Coast on Tuesday 9 October.
Mr Tan, whose recent credits include winning awards for the Australian Publishers' Association Best-Designed Children's Illustrated Book and the NSW Premier’s Literary Awards Book of the Year, will be available for a limited number of free public consultations.
The Melbourne-based illustrator will speak to eight individuals or small groups of people between 1pm and 5pm. Bookings can be made by contacting Vicky Nunan at the University on 5459 4491.
Later that evening, Mr Tan is expected to give a free public lecture and sign books at the USC Gallery from 7-8.30pm. Numbers for the lecture will be strictly limited to 60 persons, so reserve a spot on 5459 4645 or by emailing DOelrich@usc.edu.au.
Mr Tan visited USC in July for the opening of an exhibition of his illustrations and he will return to be the University’s author-in-residence from 4-11 October.
During this time, he will work alongside USC’s Senior Lecturer in Creative Writing Dr Gary Crew, providing consultations for University students and staff and lecturing in creative writing.
