Careers Fair to attract wide range of employers
More than 40 employers from local and national companies and government organisations are set to attend the University of the Sunshine Coast’s first Careers Fair on Monday 17 March.
The fair from 10am to 2pm will provide all USC students with great opportunities to informally network with prospective employers and boost their employment prospects.
USC’s Industry Liaison Officer Melissa Mehonoshen said a wide range of successful business leaders would attend to give tips and advice, work experience, how to conduct themselves at interviews.
“It will give students and employers the opportunity to discuss a range of career and employment issues,” she said. “And it will give students the chance to explore opportunities for practical industry experience and to determine whether a certain career is right for them.”
During the event, USC graduate and 2005 Queensland Young Achiever of the Year Marayke Jonkers will launch her story in Graduate Careers Australia’s guide “Careers for Graduates with Disabilities”.
Companies attending the Careers Fair are listed on the USC website, along with advice for students on how to prepare for the event and the types of questions to ask the company representatives.
