Enterprise Tuesday to focus on staff motivation

28 February 2008

An American organisational psychologist who specialises in staff motivation will speak at the first Enterprise Tuesday event for 2008 at the University of the Sunshine Coast’s Innovation Centre on Tuesday 4 March at 4pm.

Dr Angela Huntsman holds a teaching position at the UCLA (University of California, Los Angeles) School of Medicine where she has clients in manufacturing, aviation, electronics, entertainment, not-for-profit, medical, education and government sectors.

Her focus areas include team building and goal alignment, operational effectiveness, developing and delivering organisational development programs and creating sustainable long-term cultural change within organisations.

Dr Huntsman has taught many business leaders how to better motivate themselves and their staff and provided them with vital communication and collaboration skills needed to start and maintain successful businesses.

On Tuesday, Dr Huntsman will present the model she uses to help people develop a well-rounded and balanced approach to motivation which can help young entrepreneurs to believe that their dreams are possible.

This Enterprise Tuesday event will be the first of seven for 2008. The free events are part of a wider initiative to inspire entrepreneurship, and are based on a highly-successful program of the same name at the University of Cambridge.

Each event includes a presentation by a successful entrepreneur and the opportunity for local business owners, young entrepreneurs and start-up company directors to network and meet new people.

Enterprise Tuesday is open to the local business community as well as staff and students of the University of the Sunshine Coast and other regional education institutes.

To register for next Tuesday’s event, email <enterprise@usc.edu.au> or phone the Innovation Centre on 5450 2600.
