USC to attend Sunshine Coast Careers Expo
Career advisers, lecturers and student administration staff from the University of the Sunshine Coast will attend the Sunshine Coast Daily Careers Expo at the Kings Champion Centre, Tanawha, on Thursday 17 July.
The careers expo, from 10am-2pm and 4-7pm, is an excellent opportunity for Coast residents to find out about some exciting career paths, including those available through studying at their local university.
Program advisers from USC’s Faculties of Business, Science, Health and Education, and Arts and Social Sciences, will be on hand to answer questions about the wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate degrees on offer.
The University’s study programs have been designed to directly address community needs for graduates in particular professions. Its professionally-accredited programs are tailored to meet local and national skills shortages and lead to real job outcomes.
Degrees introduced in recent years have included Engineering, Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Paramedic Science, Nursing Science, and Regional and Urban Planning.
The 10 most popular degrees at USC this year were Nursing Science, Business (Accounting), Science (Sport and Exercise Science), Journalism, Science (Biomedical Science), Arts (Computer Based Art & Design), Education/Arts, Education/Science, Paramedic Science, and Exercise Science.
At the Sunshine Coast Daily Careers Expo, USC will have brochures, publications and information about its study programs, support services for students, alternative entry programs, and its popular Global Opportunities (GO) Program which enables students to spend a semester or two studying overseas.
The University also will display its range of degree programs and its services for students at the Tertiary Studies Expo (TSXPO) at the RNA Showgrounds, Bowen Hills, Brisbane, from 10am to 4pm on Saturday and Sunday 19-20 July.
