Walt Disney World to stage careers presentation
World tourism and hospitality leader Walt Disney World will make a special careers presentation at the University of the Sunshine Coast on Thursday 11 September.
This presentation is open to the public and will outline Walt Disney World’s International College Program which will be made available for the first time to Australian students and recent graduates.
Participants in the 6-12 month program will be immersed in a work-integrated learning program at the famous resort in Florida to develop skills in customer service, communication, teamwork, leadership, responsibility and cultural sensitivity.
USC Careers and Graduate Employment Officer Clive May said he expected plenty of interest in the presentation by Walt Disney World representative Sarah Hinchberger in Lecture Theatre 5 from 12.30-2pm on Thursday.
“The presentation will provide students with an opportunity to apply to work at a Fortune 100 company that is a worldwide leader in the tourism and hospitality industry,” Mr May said.
“Sarah Hinchberger will give an overview of the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. She will explain what students will gain by working at Walt Disney World, and how the program will greatly benefit the students in the future.
“She will explain the job roles, accommodation, study options and the social activities that are offered, along with the rules of the International College Program.
“Sarah also will talk about the benefits of the program, which includes daily free entry to theme parks, discounted Disney merchandise and discounted resort reservations.”
Mr May said Walt Disney World staff also would conduct interviews with prospective applicants after presentations at both USC and Sunshine Coast TAFE at Mooloolaba on Thursday.
USC runs an extensive program of presentations by national and international employers including PricewaterhouseCoopers, Ernst & Young, the Commonwealth Bank, Education Queensland and the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
