Top executives on industry advisory group
Senior representatives of major companies like PricewaterhouseCoopers, Juniper Development Group and Herron Todd White will be members of a new industry advisory group for the University of the Sunshine Coast.
This group, which will help steer the strategic direction of the University’s Property and Asset Management degree program, will meet for the first time tomorrow (Thursday 25 September) at 8.30am.
The group will be chaired by USC’s Professor of Property and Development Mike Hefferan, and its members will include industry leaders from Australian Environment International, CSIRO Corporate Property, Herron Todd White, Juniper Development Group, PricewaterhouseCoopers and the Department of Natural Resources and Water.
The University’s Dean of Business, Professor Evan Douglas, and well-known academic Professor Terry Boyd also will be members of the panel that will meet three times a year.
Professor Hefferan said the business experts would play a key role in the development and promotion of the Property and Asset Management program which, in turn, would benefit the Sunshine Coast region.
“The aim of the program is to produce property professionals who, at the end of their undergraduate degree program, are able to apply their learning to a range of property-related tasks,” he said.
“These include valuation, analysis, development, finance, asset and property management, facilities management and a range of other property-related responsibilities across the public and private sectors.”
Professor Hefferan said the expertise of the industry advisory group members would ensure the degree contained the right mix of training in property-related disciplines like valuation, law, construction, town planning, accounting and natural sciences.
