University info night for parents of Year 10-12 students
The University of the Sunshine Coast will hold a free information evening on Wednesday 4 June for parents of Year 10-12 students who are considering university study.
This event from 6.30-8pm will give parents practical advice on how their children can best prepare for tertiary study, as well as an understanding of what happens at universities.
USC External Relations Coordinator Kylie Russell said parents, as well as the students themselves, would benefit greatly from attending..
“This is the first information event of its kind that we have organised for parents and it has been in response to a huge demand,” she said.
“Topics will include career planning, choosing subjects for senior school, OP scores, the regional preference scheme, pathways to university and the study programs available at USC.
“The session also will explain what happens at universities, the costs associated with tertiary study, scholarships, financial support, and the resources that are available to help students’ decision-making.
“Parents of students in Years 10-12 should not miss this session.”
Bookings are essential. Contact USC’s School Liaison Officer Tegan Piggford on (07) 5459 4795 or via email at <schools@usc.edu.au>.
