Alana Kirchoff
GO Program participant
USC student Alana Kirchhoff studied in both Germany and Norway as part of the GO Program—and received financial support from both the Australian Government and USC to help with her expenses.
Alana, who received an Endeavour Student Exchange Program scholarship from the Australian Government, and a USC Overseas Study Grant, says the GO Program was one of the reasons she chose to study at USC.
"I have a never-ending thirst to discover and explore the world, and the GO Program allows me to quench this thirst while studying," she says.
After her first semester of study at USC, Alana participated in an environmental engineering study at the University of Kassel, with support from the Hessen Ministry in Germany.
"The course offered at this institution was outstanding and allowed me to participate in seminars and events that are simply not available within Australia," she says.
Alana liked the experience so much she decided to GO for a second adventure. This time she chose to study in the Mountain to Fjord Program at Sogn og Fjordane University College in Norway.
"Norway is almost as far away from Australia as you can get, so I wanted to challenge myself and see if I could live so far away. Plus, it was a chance for a new adventure," she says.
"The GO Program is an excellent opportunity to discover more about not only personal topics of interest, but also the world and the amazing people and places within it."
