Working for Added Value in Sydney, Craig Ham is part of a global strategic marketing company with around 200 consultants world-wide.

"We are commissioned by our clients to deliver ideas and insights that inspire growth for their brands," says Craig.

"My role is as an insight specialist - hunting and delivering meaningful consumer, category, and brand insights."

Craig's work helps clients to understand their current and potential consumers, broader world trends, and the resulting implications for their marketing initiatives.

Some of Craig's clients include various multi-national organisations with brands in areas ranging from wine, premium spirits and beer, to soft-drink, coffee, clothing, snack foods and financial services.

"I just recently finished an innovation/trend piece for a soft drink client looking to develop new products for launch worldwide. I worked out of Moscow coordinating teams from Mexico to Thailand, then pulled it all together in London and Sydney before delivering the strategy presentation to the client's global marketing team in New York.

"I remember thinking at the time it was a long way from Lecture Theatre 2 - a very proud moment for this guy from USC.

"I'm certainly enjoying the high performance culture - it's all about the thinking and innovation - which in my mind is what marketing is all about, and the very reason I got into it in the first place."
