Tanya's dream of becoming a television sports journalist came true following successful stints as an intern at Seven Local News on the Sunshine Coast.
Only days after completing her Bachelor of Arts (Communication) at the University, Tanya was told she had beaten 500 applicants for the coveted position of sports journalist at Seven's Bundaberg news studios.
The 20-year-old had already made an impression on her employers while undertaking two internships at the Seven studios as part of her degree.
The internship program, a partnership between Channel Seven and the University of the Sunshine Coast, forms an integral part of the communication major offered at the University.
"I was in my second year when I was interviewed for one of the internship places with Seven and was given the chance to work there one day a week for two semesters.
"I learnt from the best in the industry, and have confidence in the work I am doing now because of this," says Tanya.
