Bachelor of Information and Communications Technology graduate Laura Daniels admits she took a risk when she left 15 years in the hairdressing industry to take up full-time study.
But as one of only four graduates to be selected from a pool of 48 to take on a business systems position at ICT firm CITEC, Laura has proven hard work, a passion for what you do, and a degree suited to your needs are the keys to success.
"CITEC is a national information and communications technology service provider with a broad range of product offerings including infrastructure management, applications management and information brokerage," Laura says.
"My first rotation (in the graduate program) is in Product Management, and I am currently responsible for CITEC's Web Hosting Solutions product.
"This entails producing product plans and working closely with major stakeholders within CITEC, to further develop and enhance the product's capability."
Laura says her BICT degree gave her the skills she needed to succeed.
"The BICT degree gave me the necessary skills and values to perform my work duties within the CITEC organisation, as my work requires an understanding of both business and Information Technology," she says.
