As a small business owner, Lincoln Catton wasn't happy with his accountant, so he decided to study to become one himself.
Now employed by Active Financial Answers, a financial services firm with offices in three states, Lincoln works in the areas of investment and wealth creation.
"My main duties are tax preparation for investor clients, specialising in property, shares and business," Lincoln says.
"I also work in set up and administration of trust and company structures for asset protection and tax minimisation."
Lincoln says he was attracted to his position because of the investment knowledge held by the firm's partners.
"My degree got me into the accounting and tax environment, but I had been searching for a firm that specialises in investing, with people that have experience in wealth creation," he says.
Lincoln says his decision to study at USC meant he could gain a quality education in a location that suited him.
"At USC, you don't have to forgo lifestyle to learn, and the quality of learning is second-to-none," Lincoln says.
"My advice to other students is to just get out there and learn a skill that will be a stepping stone for your chosen path. All great journeys begin with one step."
