Jamie Carroll
GO Program participant
Jamie Carroll came to USC to study in a beautiful coastal location. But when he discovered the GO Program, he decided to take the opportunity to combine his studies with a trip to Mexico.
“I wanted a change and I wanted to travel and learn a language,” Jamie says.
He found it was simple to apply to GO, and that USC staff were available to help with applications and arrangements.
“All I had to do was fill out forms, get some references and they did the rest—it was easy,” Jamie says.
Jamie decided on Mexico as his destination because Tecnológico de Monterrey offered courses in English, as well as Spanish.
“I wanted to learn Spanish and travel around Latin America,” he says. “I have had many great experiences on the GO Program. I’ve made some really good friends, seen some amazing sights and enjoyed every minute.”
Jamie, who is majoring in International Business in a Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Business, says he would recommend the GO Program to others.
“It gives students a chance to add a bit of variety to their degree, allows them to travel, make new friends, learn about other cultures and have some of the best experiences of their life,” he says.
Jamie, who received a USC Overseas Study Grant, also recommends GO because it is easy to apply, involves no extra tuition costs, and a range of financial support is available to help cover expenses.
“So why not add an extra dimension to your degree and have a holiday at the same time?” he says.
