Ji-Young Kim
Home country: South Korea
Ji-Young Kim wanted to study in English, and chose the beauty of the beach in Australia over big city life.
“USC is only a little far from busy city life and very close to the beach; this appeals to me,” Ji-Young says.
“In addition, Australia uses English as the first language so I can improve my English skill.”
A student of bio and nano technology, Ji-Young was able to find courses at USC to meet her needs and chose Communication and Thought, Microbiology and her favourite, Cell Biology.
She found differences in the teaching methods used at USC compared to her home university.
“In Korea all classes are lectures. I was amazed that every class constitutes a lecture and tutorial or lab at USC,” she says.
“That means more participation by students.”
Ji-Young says she would love to spend another semester at USC and recommends studying here.
“If I could extend my experience here I’d love to, USC is a very good place to study,” she says.
