Home country: USA

Kristine Henke chose USC for her semester abroad for its location, size and reputation.

“Australia is a beautiful area of the world and I had heard nothing but good things about Australia and about USC,” Kristine says. “The small size of USC made it even more appealing.”

Kristine’s favourite courses at USC have made her consider her academic path.

“The classes and teachers have made it an amazing experience and have made me consider different academic paths very seriously,” she says. “In Australia it’s more independent learning and you are expected to participate in class.

“The IR people are always so friendly and helpful. They arrange trips for us and give us monthly handouts, they answer all the questions I have, they always help and are there for whatever,” Kristine says.

“I have enjoyed all the things the uni has put together for us.”

Socially, Kristine is enjoying the Sunshine Coast. “I love going to Mooloolaba for the beaches and the night-life. The Sunshine Plaza is very cool and so is the zoo!” she says.

“All the beaches are a must to see here – along with trying all the restaurants.”

Kristine recommends USC to international students. “It’s an amazing school to be an international student because there are so many people to help you adjust and succeed so far from home,” she says.

“There is so much to see and do right near the uni.”
