Pattigrace Lupari
Home country: Papua New Guinea
Program: Bachelor of Business (Marketing)
Pattigrace Lupari came to the University of the Sunshine Coast
for a personalised educational experience.
"I enjoy the smaller tutorial classes and feel comfortable with
approaching my lecturers and tutors because of the personalised
atmosphere," the Bachelor of Business (Marketing) student says.
Pattigrace, who is now in her third year of study at USC, says she
also chose USC because of the location of the campus.
"I love the fact that the beach is only 10 minutes away from the
campus site, which is convenient and an advantage for beach-goers
like me," she says.
Pattigrace says her favourite experience at USC was Orientation,
an event held each year to welcome new students to the campus.
"I enjoy attending Orientation and meeting the new students,"
she says.
"The activities are fun and offer a wide variety of information
on all sorts of activities from sky-diving to surfing."
Pattigrace says University staff are "helpful and kind".
"I truly believe that University staff and staff in
International Relations have been the most helpful and delightful
people," she says.
"They have made my stay at USC enjoyable and easy. They provide
information on all sorts of activities, from work permits to
information about doing a trip to Fraser Island."
Pattigrace lives in student accommodation next to the USC
campus.
"I find it convenient and fun as it is only five minutes walk to
University, 10 minutes walk to the main shopping area and there are
bus stops at the University and the near the complex," she
says.
"I believe it is the best way to meet other students and to
build friendships.
"I have also experienced Homestay accommodation and enjoyed that
also. During my first year at USC I lived with a lovely Australian
family at Chancellor Park. It was a great experience because it
benefited me greatly as a first year university student away from
my family and home. The family were warm and kind. I recommend
Homestay to any first year student as it will ease the transition
from high school to university."
